“CITY BELL-RINGING DAY” AN OUTSTANDING SHOW OF SUPPORT FOR THE COMMUNITIES AND THE SALVATION ARMY
The City Bell-ringing day on Thursday, December 14 showed great community spirit and raised a whopping $12,735 for The Salvation Army. The competition between cities was very close, but in the end Evergreen came out as the winner. Columbia Falls, the “defending champion” was only $40.16 behind them.
Here are the results of the kettle totals:

Major Bill Lum of Flathead Valley Salvation Army Corps wants everyone in all the communities to know how much their support and generosity means to the Salvation Army and the people they help. Major Bill and Joy moved here in July and are amazed at how giving the people of Flathead Valley are to help their neighbors.
The traveling trophy for the City Ring Day will soon be moved from its location at Smith’s in Columbia Falls to Evergreen where it will reside for the coming year.
The money raised for the Salvation Army through the Kettles is used locally to help provide basic needs to anyone experiencing difficult times. Last year, The Salvation Army in Kalispell served over 28,700 hot meals, as well as hot showers, laundry facilities, clothing and household items, school supplies and sponsored 86 community children for summer camp. Also, last Christmas 1246 children were blessed with gifts for Christmas.
